What a Super 8 wedding film is
A super 8 wedding film is real film, not a filter. It runs through a camera, goes to a lab, gets developed, and gets scanned. What you end up with carries the grain, the soft edges, and the gentle instability that make an 8mm wedding video feel like something you remember rather than something you recorded.
The camera makes a mechanical whir when it rolls. A cartridge runs about three minutes, so every shot counts. Then you wait, because the film has to come back from the lab before anyone sees a frame. That wait is part of it. So is the fact that this is a physical object, exposed on your wedding day, that will still play in fifty years.
How it works
- You book Super 8 on its own or add it to a digital film.
- I shoot a set number of cartridges across the day.
- The film goes to the lab, where it gets developed and scanned.
- You get your scans color graded and cut to sound, plus the full digital length of every foot of film shot, delivered with your full day recap and highlight film.

Is this real film or a digital filter?
Real film. It runs through a Super 8 camera, gets developed at a lab, and gets scanned. Nothing about the look is added afterward in an app. The grain and the color come from the film stock itself.
How much do you get on one cartridge?
A single cartridge runs about three minutes. That is why Super 8 is selective. I shoot the moments that suit it across your day.
Can I have Super 8 and a digital film?
I offer digital ceremony packages as an add-on, where I film your full ceremony digitally alongside your full day Super 8 recap. You get the memory on film and your ceremony captured in full.
Do you travel for Super 8 weddings?
Yes. I have covered weddings everywhere from my home of Charleston to Europe and all over the US. The camera is small and travels easily, which makes it a natural fit for destination weddings and elopements.
